Monica di Sardegna Perdera 2021
Monica grape variety is the second most widespread in Sardinia among the black berried ones and lends itself to the creation of gentle, soft and fruity wines, to be drunk in youth. Argiolas' Monica di Sardegna is produced with grapes from two different estates in southern Sardinia, the vineyards are located at 250-300 meters above sea level, the soils contain marl, sandstone and limestone. In addition to Monica, the blend also includes a small part of Bovale and Carignano, two other native Sardinian grapes. The whole gives a wine that is intense on the palate and easy to drink, thanks to its smoothness on the palate and its fruity flavors that recall sweet sensations.
The grapes ferment at a controlled temperature with a maceration of 8-10 days. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and subsequently ages in concrete tanks. In some vintages there is also a very short passage in small barrels.
