The winery founded by Antonio Argiolas in 1938 is one of the most important in Sardinia at least from the point of view of the history of Sardinian wine up to its current success. It has a high reputation both in Italy and abroad for some of its wines that have become iconic, first of all the Turriga, produced for the first time with the 1988 harvest as a modern barrique-aged wine made from native Sardinian varieties. Argiolas has given value to native grape varieties, in particular to the tradition of the south of the island, with a constant quality standard, becoming a reliable brand. Today the third generation following the founder is leading the business and manages 250 hectares of vineyards divided into 5 estates in southern Sardinia. Tenuta Serdiana extends for 45 hectares near the winery north of Cagliari and is where new approaches in viticulture are tested before applying them to the rest of the property. Tenuta Sisini is located a little further north in the so-called Trexenta, has 50 hectares of vineyards between 200 and 250 meters with mixed soil of marl, sandstone and limestone, and is suitable for the cultivation of white grapes. Tenuta Sa Tanca is also in a hilly area between 250 and 350 meters, but it has brown soils and another white limestone, more predisposed for black berried grapes. Another 40 hectares are those of Tenuta Vigne Vecchie in the hills of the township of Selegas, mainly cultivated with white grapes. Finally, Tenuta Is Solinas is located in the Sulcis sub-region and its 15 hectares are cultivated with the Carignano grape variety on sandstone soil.

In recent years, Argiolas has adopted integrated agriculture to protect the environment, reducing sprays with chemicals and also adopting some biodynamic preparations as well as manure, minerals as well as copper and sulfur. In the cellar they did not save on technology, making use of modern and efficient approaches, aimed at expressing the specificities of the territory in the best possible way. The headquarters of the winery is located in the village of Serdiana in the province of Sud Sardegna (South Sardinia).
