Mezzanotte 2018

Mezzanotte is a modern style Tuscan red wine, call it a Supertuscan. It is based on the Merlot grape grown in the Chianti area. Merlot is a grape of great international success, because it gives very fruity wines, even complex ones and always soft and supple on the palate. The Chianti area has proved suitable for the cultivation of vines such as Merlot. Mezzanotte is a sumptuous Tuscan red, to which 10% of Sangiovese gives freshness and 5% of Cabernet Sauvignon increases body and aromatic complexity. The grapes are harvested and processed separately per variety. The grapes ferment in steel and the wine ages in barrique for one year.
