Merlot TreSette 2017

The name of the wine can be reminiscent of a card game. Merlot TreSette is considered a game for Riecine, as it goes beyond its production philosophy based on Sangiovese. It is a complex and elegant wine, in which the altitude of the vineyards guarantees freshness to the fruity flavors and vibrant character of the taste. It is a round and harmonious wine in which the sensual fruity taste prevails. The Merlot is harvested in September in rather high vineyards, between 450 and 500 meters above sea level, which therefore enjoy a cool climate and precious temperature variations between night and day.

The harvest is manual and the grapes are further selected in the cellar on a vibrating table. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels with only indigenous yeasts. Subsequently the wine ages for 20 months in three oak tonneaux of seven hectoliters each. Here is revealed the name TreSette!
