Marmato Vermentino is a DOC white wine produced by Il Poderone, a cooperative winery based in Magliano in Tuscany. It is made from 100% Vermentino grapes grown in the vineyards of the Tuscan Maremma, characterised by a warm, Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich soils.
The Vermentino grapes for the production of Marmato Il Poderone are generally harvested by hand in the second half of September, when they reach perfect ripeness. The precise date of harvest may vary slightly from vintage to vintage, depending on weather conditions.
Marmato Vermentino ferments and matures in stainless steel for several months before being bottled. This type of ageing preserves the freshness and primary characteristics of the Vermentino grape, such as the fruity and floral aromas.
Marmato Vermentino does not use wood during ageing. This helps to keep the wine fresh and lively, with a distinct acidity and mineral profile.
Features
Colour: Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections.
perfume: The nose opens with an intense and complex bouquet of floral (broom, white flowers), fruity (citrus, green apple, peach), typical Mediterranean scents (sage, rosemary) and a light touch of fresh almond.
Taste: In the mouth, it is fresh, lively and mineral, with a marked acidity that makes it balanced and savoury

Marmato Vermentino is a versatile wine that goes perfectly with fish dishes, shellfish, seafood, vegetables and light first courses. It is excellent as an aperitif or to accompany appetisers and fried fish.
