Il Poderone is a cooperative winery based in Magliano in Toscana, in the Maremma region. Founded in 1962, it now has around 75 conferring members who cultivate a total of 400 hectares of vineyards.

The winery is mainly known for the production of Morellino di Scansano DOCG, a robust and structured red wine made from Sangiovese grapes with small additions of other indigenous varieties.

In addition to Morellino di Scansano, Il Poderone also produces other pure indigenous specialities, including:

Ansonica: a dry white wine with a mineral character and aromas of yellow fruit and white flowers.

Ciliegiolo: a fresh and lively red wine with aromas of cherries, currants and raspberries.

Merlot: a soft and fruity red wine with notes of plum, liquorice and spices.

Vermentino: a fresh and mineral white wine, with aromas of Mediterranean scrub, melon, apricot and lime blossom.

Il Poderone's production is based on principles of sustainable agriculture, with an eye to respecting the environment and enhancing the territory. The winery uses modern winemaking techniques, while preserving tradition and the link with the land.
