Le Volte dell’Ornellaia 2021

Le Volte is a red wine from Bolgheri, even though it is classified as IGT, and expresses the Mediterranean, generous and attractive character typical of the wines of the Tuscan coast. It is a blend based on Merlot, and it respects completely the Ornellaia style based on richness and roundness. Compared to the other wines of the estate, Le Volte dell’Ornellaia aims to have a more immediate approach and boasts a fragrant fruity taste; it comes as a youthful, ready-to-drink wine. To achieve this, a double kind of aging was made, partly in concrete and partly in wood.

Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine also carries out malolactic fermentation in steel. Subsequently a part of the wine ages for 10 months in barrique and a part instead ages in concrete tanks.
