Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Rubico 2021
Lacrima is a historic grape variety found only in the Morro d'Alba area north of Ancona. It is a semi-aromatic variety that gives fruity wines, but is very delicate and difficult to cultivate. In fact, it was on the verge of disappearing, but fortunately, with the creation of the DOC, it has managed to gain a reputation that goes beyond its production area. Marotti Campi has always been attached to this vine and offers two different versions. Rubico is the slender version to be drunk young.
The grapes are harvested by hand in boxes in mid-September. They ferment in temperature-controlled steel vats. Only 10% of the grapes are fermented whole cluster with carbonic maceration in order to extract the grapes' primary aromas, colour and softness. The wine matures 3 months in steel.
