La Casa Brunello 2018
Brunello di Montalcino La Casa comes from a single vineyard of 5 hectares located in one of the most suitable areas of Montalcino: the Montosoli hill on the north side. In this hill at 275 m above sea level there are excellent conditions of light, the microclimate is dry and has significant diurnal range. The soil is mainly made up of galestro, the friable clayey rock that favors the floral aromatic development of Sangiovese. Caparzo was a forerunner in producing Brunello from a single vineyard, in fact the Brunello la Casa has been produced since 1977.
The harvest is manual. The grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature and the maceration of the wine on the skins continues for 10-15 more days with pumping over and délastage. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, the wood aging begins. The wine ages in French oak barrels of various sizes for over 2 years.
