Alto Adige Spumante Brut Rosé Athesis 2020
It is a very refined vintage rosé sparkling wine. To make it, Kettmeier selects Chardonnay grapes from the most suitable locations in South Tyrol. Pinot Noir is vinified with a short maceration that gives not only the color but also a certain solidity to the taste. A long aging on the lees creates a truly attractive taste harmony and wonderfully matches the food.
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are harvested and vinified separately. The first after a soft pressing ferments in steel at a controlled temperature. The Pinot Noir grapes, on the other hand, are pressed and left to macerate for a while before being pressed and only the free-run must continues fermentation in steel. The blend is then composed with the addition of yeasts and sugars for the second fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional method. The sparkling wine ages on the lees in the bottle for 24 months.
