Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso 2019

Guado al Tasso is the best expression of the Bolgheri area for the estate, it is the synthesis of its potential, obtained with mainly Cabernet sauvignon and the addition of Cabernet franc and Merlot in variable parts according to the vintage; sometimes Petit Verdot is used too. It has been produced since 1990 with extreme rationality, according to the model of the great Bordeaux reds. Each parcel is harvested and vinified separately and only then is the blend decided to create the flagship wine of the Guado al Tasso estate of the Marchesi Antinori in Bolgheri. The vineyards have a soil of alluvial origin, as in Bordeaux and contain sand, silt, clay, many stones and minerals. Each parcel has been studied and cultivated with the vine variety that is most suitable for it. The 2019 vintage was particularly generous in Bolgheri, which made it possible to harvest healthy and ripe grapes without compromising on quantity. The season was initially conditioned by the rains but then had a hot summer without peaks. The result is a wine that has structure and power without giving up finesse. Winery oenologist Marco Ferrarese defined the 2019 vintage of Guado al Tasso as "persuasive and vibrant".

A double sorting table allows you to select only perfect grapes. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in steel at a controlled temperature and maceration lasts a total of about 20 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barrique and after a few months the definitive blend of Guado al Tasso is created. The wine thus obtained ages for about 18 months in new French oak barriques.
