Falanghina del Sannio comes from the Mastroberardino estate in the municipality of Apice in province of Benevento. It is the area called Sannio, in memory of the ancient Samnite population who lived there.
In the hills of Sannio the native Falanghina grape variety has settled and has taken on a characteristic physiognomy, different from that of the Falanghina of the coast. Falanghina is an ancient variety and very versatile in winemaking.
