Alto Adige DOC Riesling 2023
Riesling is the best known German grape variety in the world. It is particularly suitable for environments with a harsh climate, because its shoot resists the most extreme temperatures, however it needs sunlight to fully ripen. In the Isarco Valley it has met ideal conditions for its ripening and in fact, it gives highly appreciated results. The main feature of Riesling wines is acidity which makes them intense and long-lived even with low alcohol content. It is grown on very sloping soils between 500 and 850 meters above sea level on lean, gravelly soils rich in mineral components.
The grapes are harvested in late September. They ferment in chilled stainless-steel vats without skins. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out and the wine ages on the fine lees in steel for a few months before bottling.
