Diadema Rosso 2018
When form is substance. The Diadema Rosso wine bottle, decorated with Swarowski crystals, communicates the quality of the content. It is a modern Tuscan red, produced in the hills of Impruneta, just outside Florence, with a full-bodied, soft and intense taste to satisfy contemporary consumers. Diadema Rosso wine can match food or can also be appreciated on its own thanks to its balance and complexity. It is produced with the best Sangiovese grown on the Florentine hills for more than half of the blend, supplemented by international grapes in percentages that vary according to the vintage. In the case of Diadema Rosso 2018, the grapes chosen in addition to Sangiovese are Cabernet sauvignon and Syrah. Sangiovese is grown on calcareous soils, very suitable for this variety.
The harvest is manual. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested in late September, those of Syrah in early October and finally those of Cabernet Sauvignon in mid-October. They are vinified separately by variety with fermentation induced by wild yeasts in steel vats with temperature control. Maceration is prolonged for 4 weeks with daily pumping over to facilitate the extraction of phenols from the skins. The wine then ages for 16-18 months in French oak barriques.
