Crémant d’Alsace Zéro Dosage 2020 Gustave Lorentz
Crémant d’Alsace Zéro Dosage by Gustave Lorentz is a traditional method sparkling wine produced in France with Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling grapes. It has a very subtle and light taste, particularly suitable as an aperitif. It is made with grape varieties typically grown in Alsace such as Pinot Blanc and Riesling and with the contribution of Chardonnay which gives a certain roundness to the sip. Like all "Crémants" it is a sparkling wine made with the traditional method, or champenois, that is the same as Champagne.
The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and pressed in whole bunches to create a pure free-run must. This ferments in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats to obtain the base wines. These are blended and yeast and sugar are added for the second fermentation which takes place in the bottle. The sparkling wine ages on the lees for about two years and is not dosed after disgorgement.
