Champagne Brut Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label (with own box)
The Maison founded in 1772 has become an icon of Champagne thanks to the visionary work of Madame Clicquot, who had the great merit of creating many innovations. For example: the first vintage Champagne in 1810, the "table de remuage" in 1816 and the creation of the first "rosé d'assemblage" in 1818. Since 1986 Veuve Clicquot has been part of the LVMH luxury group, keeping the style of the Maison unchanged and its iconic champagnes are always identifiable.
This Champagne, whose yellow label - or "Carte Jaune" - was registered in 1877, represents the majority of the production and perfectly embodies the idea of Madame Clicquot, who favored the use of black-berried grapes. The yellow label of Veuve Clicquot is the best-selling Champagne in the US and is also very popular in Italy. The style of Champagne is linked to the strength of Pinot Noir, which makes up at least half of the cuvée. The percentages vary each year according to the seasonal trend and come from over 50 distinct vineyards.
The majority of the mass ferments in large steel vats at a controlled temperature, while a percentage of the wines in large oak vats to increase their complexity. The final blend includes an important percentage of vin de réserve, some aged even over 10 years. Autolysis lasts for about 30 months, to give grace and finess to its bubbles.
