Champagne Brut Dom Pérignon P2 2003
Since the creation of each Cuvée of Dom Pérignon, a certain number of bottles are kept aside in the cellars and destined for a longer maturation on the lees. Here, after almost 20 years of waiting in the underground tunnels, the legendary P2, or Plénitude 2 is born. In the Dom Pérignon maison they love to say: "the second life of our Champagne". If the 10-year aging leads to the maturity of the legendary Dom Pérignon, the second plenitude represents a peak of further maturity reached after a further stop on the lees.
The very hot 2003 vintage pushed oenologists and agronomists towards difficult choices: real challenges that served to make this Dom Pérignon P2 a mirror of the vintage, thanks to its qualities of rare tactile volume. It is defined as "light but intense" by the guide "Grandi Champagne 2022-2023"; according to the Hachette 2022 guide, this 2003 demonstrates "generosity and breadth without either heaviness or fatigue". Undoubtedly, it promises a sensory experience of the highest level for the greatest Champagne lovers.
Dom Pérignon P2 3003 remained on the lees in the bottle for 183 months and at disgorgement it was dosed with 5 g / l of sugar.
