Celeo 2019 from Tenuta Fertuna is to all intents and purposes a Supertuscan. The name "Celeo" derives from "Cel", which in ancient Etruscan meant earth, and from "Leo", which in Latin meant lion, the symbol of the Meregalli family, which also appears in the constellation depicted on the label. This wine is in fact a tribute to the history of the area and to the Meregalli family, who believed in the potential of the Maremma.
Celeo is only made in the best vintages and produced in limited editions. It is the iconic symbol of Tuscan red wine, perfect to open on the most important occasions.
Features
Colour: intense purple.
perfume: intense, balanced and crisp, with notes of blackberry juice, very clear blueberries and a balsamic touch.
Taste: refined balance and a good share of freshness. The finish is sumptuous for its pleasant persistence and integrity.
Suggestions
To be drunk immediately, but it also has good ageing potential. For a special pairing, try it with extra dark chocolate or, if you are a smoker, try it with cigars and a pipe.
