Cannonau di Sardegna Òrriu 2021

Cannonau di Sardegna Orriu comes from the east coast, in particular from the village of Drogali in the province of Nuoro. The vineyards have sandy soil formed by granitic disintegration, which gives greater finesse to the wine. Cannonau is interpreted with a minimalist approach, with little use of wood, to maintain the fragrant aromas of the grapes that grow high up near the coast.

The harvest is manual with very low yields. The de-stemmed grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Maceration lasts 7 days with repeated punching down. The wine ages for 6 months, half in steel and half in used barriques. It ages 6 more months in the bottle before being sold.
