Amarone della Valpolicella Campo dei Gigli 2017
Campo dei Gigli 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Tenuta sant'Antonio is produced from: 70 % Corvina, 20 % Rondinella, 5 % Croatina and 5 % Oseleta; its grapes are grown in the commune of Mezzane di Sotto, Verona, on white calcareous, loamy and sandy soil, at an altitude of 300 m above sea level, with the Veronese pergola training system.
After a very scrupulous selection of the grapes, the grapes are left to dry for 3 months, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel for 2/3 weeks while the malolactic fermentation takes place in 500 l tonneaux, the batonagge is carried out once a week for the first year, finally the ageing takes place for 3 years in new tonneaux.
The end result is a wine with an important organoleptic profile: balanced, broad on the palate and nose, very intense, structured and persistent. Not for nothing is it the flagship wine of this winery, never disappointing, year after year, the high expectations.
Some curiosities
1- the name is a dedication to the lily, the flower symbol of Tenuta Sant'Antonio.
2- this wine originates from the estate's oldest vineyard.
