Camartina 2016
Camartina is the flagship of Querciabella production, born in 1981 as a table wine, combining Bordeaux grapes with the traditional Sangiovese.
Wine making also follows Bordeax style. Single varieties are processed separetely; maceration is prolonged with délastage and punching down; the wine is aged in new French barriques for a total of 18 months; the final blend is created with the aim of absolute excellence; it is bottled without filtration.
It comes from vines managed with a very strict biological regime on a poor soil of sandstone and marl at 400 m of altitude, facing south.
It is not produced in unfavorable years (e.g. 1988, 1992, 1998, 2002, 2014).
