Cabraia 2017
Cabraia is one of the last born of the winery and enhances the Cabernet franc grape.
Cabernet franc is less muscular than Cabernet sauvignon and more complicated: in fact, when it does not ripen perfectly, the wines have vegetal notes. In Bordeaux, where it comes from, there is very little of it, because the Atlantic climate does not favor its maturation. On the contrary, on the Tuscan coast, Cabernet franc has found a congenial climate and allows the production of charming successful wines.
The warm and dry climate of Suvereto and the soil of sand, clay and stones, rich in minerals, enhance the refined character of this variety, grown at 100 m above sea level in the vineyards of Gualdo del Re.
Cabraia ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature and ages in French barriques for 18 months.
