Brunello di Montalcino 2018

Banfi is one of the best-known brands of Brunello di Montalcino and is also the largest estate within the appellation. It produces 4 different labels of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Castello Banfi is the classic Brunello, obtained with grapes from various vineyards of the estate. The vineyards are all located on the south-west side of the Montalcino hill and enjoy a generally warm climate. They have different soils depending on the location; in some vineyards the soil is sandy and clayey, while in others it is stonier and calcareous, finally in some vineyards there are particular blue clays. The result is a balanced, generous and deep wine; Brunello Castello Banfi is also immediately enjoyable, even if it can age further for a few years.

The de-stemmed grapes ferment at a controlled temperature in vats patented by Banfi made of wood and steel. The wine ages for two years in French oak barrels of various sizes.
