Brunello di Montalcino 2017
Loved by enthusiasts and connoisseurs, Brunello di Montalcino Le Ragnaie has the typical taste of pure Sangiovese: it is elegant, structured and dynamic. Riccardo Campinoti produces his Brunello with grapes harvested in different farms and this favors the complexity of the taste and its balance. The headquarters of the winery with the largest body of vineyards is located at the highest point of Montalcino at the Passo del Lume Spento and some of its vineyards even exceed 600 meters above sea level. Over the years he has acquired plots of vineyards also in other areas and therefore manages to make limited edition single-vineyard Brunello labels, while its classic Brunello di Montalcino is the synthesis of the various areas. Le Ragnaie is a certified organic winery, furthermore in the cellar there are only concrete tanks and large barrels, demonstrating fidelity to the more traditional style of Brunello.
The grapes are harvested by hand, are de-stemmed, crushed and fermented with maceration on the skins in concrete tanks. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels for aging which lasts for about 3 years.
