Braide Alte 2020
Braide Alte since 1996, its first vintage, has collected awards and prizes in Italy and abroad. It is the wine that has sanctioned the success of the Livon company. It comes from a beautiful vineyard on a clayey marl hill with an amazing view, where the 4 grape varieties, that make up the blend, are planted. The small percentage of Picolit creates an indissoluble bond with the territory, where Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc have been grown since the Austrian domination and are now considered an integral part of local tradition. The vineyard is located in the western Collio, in the village of Ruttars, where most of the Livon property extends and has been planted at high density according to modern agronomic principles: there are 8000 vines per hectare.
Grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes. Winemaking and aging are separate for each variety. Once put in the press, grapes macerate at low temperature for 8 hours. Alcoholic fermentation of the must takes place in new Allier oak barriques at a controlled temperature (14-16 ° C). The wine ages in barrique on the fine lees for 8 months. The final blend is made before bottling.
