Beefeater London Gin
Created by James Borrough in the 1800s, this gin is the only one entirely distilled and produced in central London. Its name derives from the guards who controlled the Tower of the city and the image of one of them was chosen for the label, always the same for many centuries. Housed in an Edwardian building, the Beefeater Distillery maintains original Victorian pot stills and a botanical room, where the fresh ingredients are harvested. The gin is still prepared with the original recipe of two hundred years ago using 9 stills and 9 botanicals including juniper, orange peel and lemon peel, coriander, angelica root, almonds, weighed by hand for each batch of gin that is produced, now as then.
