Ballantine's Finest Whisky
Ballantine's Finest Scotch Whiskey is a blended blend of 50 Single Malts (whiskeys obtained only from malt) and 4 Single Grains (obtained only from wheat).George Ballantine began in 1836 to age malts in his grocery store in Edinburgh. In 1910 the Ballantine's Finest blend was developed and in the 1920s, during prohibition, the typical square bottle was created, to allow American traders to hide a pair of Ballantine's Finest in their briefcase in case of police checks. Excellent for some types of cocktails, this Blended Scotch Whiskey fully complies with the production rules which provide for the use of water and malted barley (with the only addition of whole grains of other cereals), fermentation only with the addition of yeasts, the maturation in Scotland in oak barrels.
