Barbera d’Alba Piana 2021 Bio
Piana red wine is a Barbera d’Alba DOC in the purest and most traditional version, vinified only in steel to let the grape express itself with its intense fruity notes and its freshness. The main characteristic of the Barbera grape is in fact that it is endowed with high level of acidity even when the grapes ripen perfectly, accumulating sugars; while the quantity of tannins is always limited. It also gives wines with deep colors and very fragrant fruity aromas. Barbera is the most widespread grape variety in Piedmont and lends itself to originating everyday wines, appreciable for their ease of drinking and versatility in food pairing.
The Barbera grapes come from the Monsordo-Bernardina estate near Alba and after being de-stemmed they ferment with the skins in steel vats at a controlled temperature. After racking, the wine also carries out malolactic fermentation and ages in steel for a few months until bottling without any passage in wood.
