Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico 2017
Brigaldara’s Amarone Classico comes from the vineyards near the San Floriano Villa, where the winery is located, at an altitude of 250 m at the beginning of the Marano valley, one of the most suitable areas of the Valpolicella Classica. In fact, in this valley the soil has a basalt component which favors the production of elegant wines with good acidity. The Brigaldara vineyards have mainly clayey-sandy soils on the surface and a substrate of basaltic tuff.
The harvest is manual in the second half of September. Only the ripest and most sparse bunches are chosen. These bunches are laid out in boxes do dry indoors for 120 days. The fermentation on the skins takes place with two pumping over a day to favor extraction of substances from the skins. The wine ages for one year in barrique and two years in large barrels.
