Brigaldara is a family-run winery located in San Floriano in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano in the direction of the Marano valley, from where many Valpolicella wines considered among the most elegant come from. The estate has belonged to the Cesari family since 1929 as a farmhouse and it was only in 1979 that the production and sale of wines began. Today Brigaldara owns vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica, in the Valpantena and in the wider area to the east.
The winery philosophy aims to enhance the differences of the territory, rather than to align them, so the vinifications are separate and their wines take on a personality directly referable to the area of ​​origin. The wines of the Valpolicella Classica are more subtle and elegant, enjoying a cooler microclimate and a more varied soil, while the wines of the eastern part are bolder and more fruity.
The work in the vineyard and in the cellar is artisanal, with most of the operations carried out by hand, by a close-knit team of specialized collaborators. In the vineyard they respect the environment and biodiversity, use only natural fertilizers and have banned chemicals for treatments.
The style of the wines is more about drinkability than concentration and special effects. From 50 hectares of vineyards, Brigaldara produces about 300,000 bottles a year.
