Alto Adige Valle Isarco Sylvaner 2022
The Sylvaner grape variety is widespread in Germany and Alsace; was born over 500 years ago in Austria as a spontaneous cross between two other varieties. Since it buds early it is grown in sunny areas sheltered from any spring frosts. In Italy it is found almost only in the Isarco Valley, where it has found very favorable conditions. In the Isarco Valley it is found between 500 and 850 meters above sea level on the sunniest and most ventilated slopes. The soils are gravelly of alluvial origin and rich in minerals. The wines have good acidity and strong character.
After a gentle pressing of the grapes, the free-run must is clarified by natural decantation. It ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation and ages for a few months in steel in contact with the fine lees.
