Alto Adige Lagrein 2021
It is a typical South Tyrolean red wine, to be drunk in its youth for its flavor of fresh fruit and flowers and its gustatory balance not devoid of structure. It is obtained with the native Lagrein vine, in particular the grapes come from the hills of Gries behind the city of Bolzano and from the area of Lake Caldaro. Lagrein is a typical mountain grape variety, which has been cultivated for a long time in the valley bottom in South Tyrol and gives very intense wines both in color and in aroma and taste.
The grapes are harvested by hand in late September. They ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures in oak barrels for a few months.
