Alghero Torbato Terre Bianche Cuvée 161 2022
Terre Bianche Cuvée 161 is an elegant and structured traditional white wine, produced with Torbato grapes. Tobrato is a native Sardinian vine variety, typical of the Alghero area. In fact, the main estate of Sella & Mosca is located in Alghero and for the production of this wine the best Torbato grapes are selected and vinified with great care to obtain an important wine, rich in body and aromas, capable of evolving over time. The soil of the vineyards is of alluvial origin with clay in part also calcareous. It is a fertile soil, rich in minerals, capable of giving structured wines. The climate is hot, arid and windy.
After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and subjected to a cold maceration for 24 hours before fermentation. They are then pressed and the liquid must is clarified by static decantation, after which it ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. A small part of the must (15%) ferments in barrique. The wine ages for 6 months in contact with its own lees, partly in steel and partly in barrique.
