Gruet Champagne Brut Selection
Champagne Sélection Brut is the most produced and also the most awarded of the Gruet maison and conveys the values of the Gruet family, that is tradition and experience. It could only be produced based on Pinot Noir, found in the Aube, but Chardonnay and Pinot meunier have an important role as complementary, because they add shades of elegance and roundness. Aube wines enjoy a slightly warmer microclimate than other areas of Champagne and favors the production of rich and fruity wines.
Gruet's Champagne Sélection Brut has been recently awarded by Decanter Asia with the silver medal and by Gilbert & Gaillard with the gold medal.
The grapes are gently pressed and the free-run must ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The cuvée is then created with part of vin de réserve and the second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the traditional method. The sparkling wine ages on the lees for over 15 months.
