In just over a century, the Tommasi family created one of the main wine groups in Valpolicella with an annual production of 2 million bottles and over 200 hectares of vineyards in the main areas of the Veneto region. The company headquarters is in Pedemonte in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica but the properties now also range outside the region with acquisitions in Lombardy, Tuscany, Basilicata and Puglia.
The activity started in 1902 with grandfather Giacomo who worked in sharecropping for the Campostrini-Bocolli family, who owned some of the most beautiful vineyards in Valpolicella.
The Tommasi were so clever that they obtained the exclusive rights to sell the wine from those vineyards, while they continued to work with the sharecropper all the other crops. Soon they bought a tavern in Parona and their business started from there.
Today the fourth generation of the family is running the business; family values ​​, as well as attachment to the territory, are always the basis of decisions. In fact Tommasi stands out for the traditional and authentic character of its wines.
In the Valpolicella Classica Tommasi is lucky to have vineyards in some of the most renowned Crus such as La Groletta, Conca d'Oro and Ca 'Florian. But the activity of the Tommasi family in Veneto has expanded over the years; they also cultivate vineyards on the shores of Lake Garda in both the Lugana and Bardolino areas. Finally, they produce Soave from the vineyards in the province of Vicenza.
