The Podernovo Tuscan estate has belonged to the Lunelli family, the owners of Ferrari in Trento, for 20 years. The Lunellis have acquired the farm on the hills of Terricciola, an area suited for the production of red wines. The vineyards are located on the top of a hill at 200 meters above sea level, overlooking the entire Valdera. They immediately identified their own style in line with the potential of this territory. They have adopted organic farming for the management of the vineyard, grown with Sangiovese and international grape varieties.
Initially they produced two labels, the result of the blend of international grape varieties and Sangiovese.
Only in recent years, when the vineyards have reached a mature age, have they expanded the range with two wines in purity: a Sangiovese named "Solenida" and a Cabernet franc named "Auritea". Among their wines, Aliotto is attractive for its quality / price ratio and Teuto expresses the tradition of Sangiovese. The two wines in purity are the flagship of the production: wines produced in a small number of bottles, they represent the best of Tenuta Podernovo.
