List of products by brand Ricasoli
Ricasoli
Ricasoli is a very important Tuscan winery. It is the largest and oldest estate in the Chianti Classico area and has been an undisputed protagonist of the development of Tuscan wine.
The company headquarters is located in Gaiole in Chianti where there is also the historic headquarters, namely the Castello di Brolio, of medieval origin, a bulwark of the Florentines against Siena. Castello di Brolio was not only a military outpost but it has always been a site of wine production too. Bettino Ricasoli, known as the Iron Baron, lived in Castello di Brolio. In addition to being Prime Minister of united Italy after Cavour, Bettino Ricasoli was also a great expert in agriculture and viticulture. He dictated the rules for making good Chianti wine, when there was still no mention of the distinction between Chianti and Chianti Classico.
Today Francesco Ricasoli manages the business; Francesco has brought the company to excellence thanks to an articulated study of the territory and Sangiovese. Its Chianti Classico crus are the most representative labels of a wide and articulated production. From 235 hectares of vineyards, Ricasoli produces 2.5 million bottles a year.
