Ca' del Bosco

Ca 'del Bosco is perhaps the most emblematic winery in Franciacorta. It is for personal reasons, for the innovative choices of its founder and for the impeccable style of its wines.
"Ca 'del bosco" was a farmhouse in the woods on a 2-hectare property that Annamaria Clementi, Maurizio Zanella's mother, had bought in Franciacorta in the 1960s and which he will later transform into a winery specializing in the production of sparkling wines. classic method.
The business began in 1972. The young Maurizio Zanella became passionate about bubbles and got to know them closely by visiting some Champagne houses. From here he draws inspiration for his future production. At a certain point he will even call an expert from Epernay to be guided in the production of the cuvées. Franciacorta did not have an established winemaking tradition and this allowed him to experiment and make innovative choices.
In 1978 Ca 'del Bosco planted the first vineyard in Italy with a density of 10,000 plants per hectare for example. Together with names such as Bellavista and Cavalleri, Ca 'del bosco dictated the rules of what Franciacorta should be: the choice of grape varieties, the winemaking method, the refinements on the grape varieties.

Today the Ca 'del Bosco winery produces two cuvées of excellence dedicated to Maurizio's mother. The Annamaria Clementi Riserva is a Franciacorta produced with Chardonnay, Pinot nero and Pinot bianco and aged on the lees for over 7 years. Annamaria Clementi Rosé is instead made up of Pinot Noir alone and subjected to an equally long refinement, the range of vintage wines identified as the “Vintage Collection” is also excellent under the two labels.
Today Ca 'del Bosco has 248 hectares of vineyards scattered throughout the territory of Franciacorta and produces 1,750,000 bottles a year.
