Nero di Troia 2021
Duca di Saragnano’s Nero di Troia wine has a dark color and a bouquet rich in fruity and floral expressions, velvety and discreetly structured. It is produced with the grape variety called Uva di Troia in memory of the city of Troy. The vine probably originates from the Balkans, where it is also widespread, but it has become the third most cultivated black grape variety in Puglia and its popularity has grown enormously. In fact it is more and more common to find wines from Uva di Troia in purity. Being a grape rich in coloring substances, it is also called Nero di Troia (Nero means black in Italian).
The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented in contact with the skins in stainless steel vats. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
