Lison-Pramaggiore Merlot Campo Camino Riserva 2020
The Campo Camino red wine is one of the Bosco del Merlo Crus, coming from the best flat vineyards north of Venice, an area historically suited to viticulture; the alluvial soils guarantee excellent grape production. Merlot and Cabernet are the most cultivated vine varieties in the Lison-Pramaggiore DOC area; Bosco del Merlo’s Lison-Pramaggiore Merlot Campo Camino wine is a pure Merlot whose varietal expression is preserved by the choice of using large barrels instead of barriques and the Riserva category emphasizes the greater evolution made possible by the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes and low yields.
The harvest takes place at perfect phenolic ripening of the grapes, which ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with prolonged maceration for over 20 days. The wine also carries out malolactic fermentation and then ages for a year in 30-hectolitre oak barrels.
