Langhe Sauvignon Alteni di Brassica 2020
Alteni di Brassica is a white wine produced in the Langhe since the mid-1980s by Angelo Gaja, who had planted Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc to produce great white wines in a land that until then had only been exploited for the production of great Red wines.
Sauvignon blanc is a worldwide successful grape variety, like Chardonnay, but it is characterized by its citrus and vegetable aromas and by its high acidity. The marly limestone soil of the Langhe favors the acidity and development of wines with great structure, even starting from white grapes.
The grapes are pressed and the free-run must ferments in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for a few months in barrique.
