Sicilia Rosso Sedàra 2021
Sicilia Rosso Sedàra wine has been produced since 1995 with Nero d'Avola, the main Sicilian indigenous grape, with a small addition of international grape varieties. It comes from the Contessa Entellina estate in southwestern Sicily; the vineyards extend over the internal hills at altitudes ranging between 200 and 600 meters. It is conceived as a ready to drink wine, to be enjoyed on any occasion. The name Sedàra is a tribute to the female protagonist of the film Il Gattopardo by Luchino Visconti: Angelica Sedàra, who becomes Tancredi's wife. The label was designed by the artist Stefano Vitale.
The harvest is separated by variety from the end of August to mid-September. The grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature with a 10 days of skin contact. The wine ages for 10 months in steel vats and for 5 months in the bottle.
