Chianti Classico Tenuta Perano 2020
With the 2015 harvest, Frescobaldi has added Chianti Classico labels to its range of wines for the first time, now in its fourth edition. The Perano Estate is a recent acquisition of the Frescobaldi Marquises in the heart of the Black Rooster appellation. The Chianti Classico of Perano Estate immediately proved to be of the highest quality. The vineyards extend on hilly slopes at 500 meters above sea level with excellent south-west exposure in the locality of San Donato in Perano in the township of Gaiole in Chianti. Sangiovese ripens here maintaining freshness and acquiring elegant flavors. The young version of Chianti Classico is a very versatile wine, suitable for multiple consumption occasions.
The harvest is manual. The de-stemmed grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins and frequent pumping over. After racking, the wine also carries out malolactic fermentation. Part of it is transferred to barriques for over a year of oak-aging. A part, on the other hand, ages only in steel. Finally, the blend is created and the wine is aged for a few more months in the bottle.
