Franciacorta Extra Brut Cuvée Prestige Edizione 46
Ca' del Bosco labels its non-vintage Franciacorta with a progressive number. Each year, the composition of the blend is the result of a study of the current vintage and the use of wines from previous vintages stored in the cellar to maintain a consistent taste faithful to the brand. In edition 45, 68% of the base wines came from the 2020 vintage, 29% of the reserve wines came from the 2019 vintage and 3% of the noble wines came from the 2018 vintage. The harvest took place from 14 August to 3 September, divided by variety and parcel. The base wines come from grapes harvested in different communes of Franciacorta.
Wine making is very sophisticated: manual selection bunch by bunch, cold washing of the grapes, drying, pressing in the absence of oxygen and fermentation in steel at a conditioned temperature. The base wines age a few months in steel. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to traditional method and the sparkling wine ages on the lees for at least two years.
