Friuli Sauvignon Blanc Turranio 2023
Paladin’s white wine Turranio is obtained from 100% Sauvignon blanc grown in the Friuli plain, on soil of alluvial origin. Paladin's goal in making this wine is to best express the typical character of the grape variety. Hence they made a clonal selection and choosed the grapes from the best plots for this vine variety. Sauvignon blanc is a white grape variety of French origin, widespread all over the world. Its strong point is the aroma intensity, with different smell depending on the territory and the climate. A common note to the Sauvignon scent is the green trait, which may recall boxwood, herbs or gooseberries. Furthermore, the taste denotes a marked acidity, which makes it sharp and taut.
Turranio Sauvignon Blanc is obtained with 3 distinct harvests: from the first harvest comes the freshness, from the second the structure and finally from the third the ripest aromas. Each batch of grapes is fermented independently from the others in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Only at the end the final blend is made. The wine ages only in steel vats for 5 months in contact with the fine lees.
