Champagne Brut Belle Époque 2012 (magnum)

In addition to being the Maison's prestige cuvée - that is, the most precious and exclusive - Belle Époque is a true icon in the world of Champagne. Since 1964 the bottle has been silkscreened with Japanese white anemones designed by the artist Émile Gallé in 1902. The floral motif is a tribute to Art Nouveau and represents the style of the Maison, based on the elegance of Chardonnay. Belle Époque is a vintage Champagne produced only in the most favorable vintages (not even 30 until now), in which the Chardonnay constitutes half of the cuvée and comes from the grand Cru villages of Avize and Cramant. Pinot Noir - coming from the north of the Montagne de Reims - plays the role of shoulder, without exceeding in power. A small percentage of Pinot Meunier forms the link between the two.

2012 was an exceptional vintage in Champagne: the hot and sunny summer resulted in healthy, perfectly ripe grapes with precious acidity. After blending the cuvée, the Belle Époque ages on the lees for 6 years and is finally dosed with 8 g / l sugar.
