Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Campaner 2022

Campaner is an aromatic white wine with a powerful and material taste produced with pure Gewürztraminer. Gewürztraminer is a vine variety that has been present for centuries in South Tyrol and has the word “Tramin” in the name, which is the neighboring municipality of Caldaro. Therefore it is considered a native grape of the area and is characterized by its always heady scent of exotic fruit and spices. In particular, the Campaner wine grapes come from a hilly vineyard facing south between 450 and 500 meters above sea level, with clay and porphyry in the soil.

The harvest was late in 2019, which began on 4 September, and lasted until the end of October. The de-stemmed grapes are left to macerate in the cold for 12 hours to facilitate the extraction of flavor compounds. They are then pressed and the free-run must is clarified by natural cold decanting. Then the alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. The wine ages for 5 months on its lees in steel vats.
