The foundation year of the Puiatti winery coincides with the birth of the first Italian DOC appelations: 1967. Based in Romans d'Isonzo between the Collio hills and the Isonzo valley, Puiatti stands out for a radical stylistic choice, which is summarized in the slogan “save a tree, drink Puiatti”. For the wines produced by Vittorio Puiatti, aging in wood is banned, but invasive techniques such as over-ripening, maceration of white grapes, oxidative aging are also banned. His wines aim to be pure, linked to the territory of origin and the identity of the variety with no compromise.
The vineyards are managed with certified organic farming and with biodynamic practices. The territory is that of the Isonzo Valley with gravelly soil of alluvial origin. The climate is conditioned by the winds, not only the cold Bora that crosses the Gulf of Trieste from the Balkans, but also the mild breezes that blow from the Adriatic Sea.
Today Puiatti is part of the Bertani-Domains group, from 50 hectares of vineyards it produces an average of 450,000 bottles a year.
