Founded in 1883 by the Bolla family in Soave, it was among the first wineries to produce Amarone in particular the first Amarone Bolla was born with the 1950 harvest and the Bolla were among the first to market Amarone together with the other typical wines of the province of Verona.
In the 1970s, Bolla was also responsible for the success of Soave's white wines, mainly exported to the United States. Since the mid-2000s, the Bolla winery has been part of the holding Gruppo Italiano Vini, of which it represents one of the best known and most prestigious brands. It boasts a large production of wines starting from 264 hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella, in the lands of Soave, in Custoza and in Bardolino. Furthermore, it has always had relationships with over 100 families of vintners who give their grapes.
Today the production range is divided into several lines ranging from classic products linked to the territory to more modern ones up to a Prosecco line.
