Le Marchesine, a small and innovative company in Franciacorta, is currently one of the most prestigious and booming companies in this area.
Its history began in 1985 when Giovanni Biatta, the founder-producer of Le Marchesine bought the first three hectares in the Franciacorta area. Since then, the company has expanded to 47 hectares of vineyards, with an annual production of around 450,000 bottles. The business has always remained under the leadership of the Biatta family, supported by oenologist Jean Pierre Valade, who puts all the experience and expertise acquired in France at the service of the company.
The company immediately distinguished itself for its innovative approach to both the type of cultivation and production systems, abandoning the pergola system and beginning to import the advanced techniques usually used in France. An example of this are the mechanised pupitres (giropallets) in the cellar, which, thanks to a constant rotary movement, achieve a final result that is probably better than that achieved with manual rotation.
